Discover how Wildlife Africa Fund (WAF) uses Aposphere Insight to implement their annual operation plan.
Previously working with large Excel files, WAF wanted to facilitate collaboration, create more engagement within their team through user friendliness, and establish a live connection to the finance data managed in Salesforce.
Thanks to the comprehensive configurability of Aposphere Insight, WAF can tailor the software to match their specific organizational workflows. This includes annual planning aligned with the fiscal year (ending in June), goal assessment at the end of each quarter and fiscal year, and the ability to attach funding sources to goals, providing a clear overview of expenditure allocation.
A live dashboard summarizes the relevant information on a single page, for executives and team members to get an overview and assess where their attention is needed.
This dashboard presents the status of operations for the 2022/2023 period as of January 2023. It indicates that two out of the four goals are currently on track, as determined by the assessments provided for Q1 and Q2, as well as the automatic survey integration. However, the second goal is marked as off track and behind schedule, with an assessment being overdue. Furthermore, the dashboard provides details on the funding sources for each goal, including the amount and the corresponding donor.
The new annual operation plan is managed collaboratively in Aposphere Insight’s intuitive editor.
Assessments for each goal are scheduled on a quarterly basis, and responses to these assessments are collected throughout the year.
The funding sources for each goal, which may vary from one to multiple sources, are conveniently displayed alongside the respective goal.
Compared to their previous Excel setup, the WAF team members find great value in the commenting and file sharing features within Aposphere Insight, as it allows them to keep all relevant information directly associated with individual goals and assessments. This streamlined approach ensures that pertinent information stays where it belongs. Additionally, the ability to assign team members to specific goals or assignments creates a clear delineation of responsibilities.
The implementation of role-based access control in Aposphere Insight provides the team with access to different parts of the planning process, which was not possible with Excel. This feature enables enhanced security and ensures that the right individuals have appropriate access privileges based on their roles and responsibilities.
One crucial requirement in selecting the Aposphere Insight platform was its capability to seamlessly integrate into WAF's existing IT system landscape.
For instance, WAF utilizes Salesforce as their CRM (Customer Relations Management) tool, and Aposphere Insight synchronizes the funding sources from Salesforce with the annual operation plan.
It's worth noting that Salesforce is just one of the numerous integrations supported by Aposphere Insight, showcasing its extensive integration capabilities.
Previously, the Annual Operation Plan was managed through an Excel file, which lacked the essential integration with Salesforce, collaboration features, and access control provided by Aposphere's online cloud-based solution.
The transition to Aposphere has enabled a seamless connection to Salesforce, facilitating data synchronization and enhancing the overall efficiency of the planning process.
Additionally, the collaboration and access control functionalities offered by Aposphere significantly improve collaboration among team members and ensure secure data management.
